Version 2026-07-20 · The terms that govern publishing and selling your work on Booklyverse.
This Author Agreement ("Agreement") is between you (the "Author") and Booklyverse. It applies whenever you submit, publish, or sell a book, series, or any other work (each, a "Work") on Booklyverse.
You must accept this Agreement before you publish your first Work, and again whenever we make a material change to it. Publishing a Work confirms that you have read and agree to these terms.
You retain all copyright and ownership of your Work. Nothing in this Agreement transfers ownership of your Work to Booklyverse.
You grant Booklyverse a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, promote, and make your Work available to readers through the platform for as long as your Work is published on Booklyverse. This license lets us operate the service (for example, generating previews, covers, and search listings, and delivering chapters to readers who have access).
This license ends for new distribution when you unpublish the Work or terminate this Agreement, except that we may retain copies as required by law and may continue to serve readers who already acquired access, as described below.
You represent and warrant that: (a) the Work is your original creation or you have all rights necessary to publish and sell it; (b) the Work does not infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other right of any third party; (c) you have the rights to any third-party material included in the Work (such as quotes, images, or cover art); and (d) the Work is not defamatory, unlawful, or otherwise in violation of our content policies.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the metadata you provide (title, author name, description, genres, pricing, and content ratings).
Your Work and conduct must comply with our content policies and applicable law. Prohibited material includes, without limitation: content that sexualizes minors; content that infringes intellectual property; content that incites violence or harm; and content that is unlawful in the jurisdictions where it is distributed.
You must accurately disclose AI-assisted content where our policies or applicable law require it, and you must honor content-rating and age-gating requirements.
You set the price of your Work within the limits and tiers the platform allows. No paid plan is required to choose your book’s price. As of this version, a book may be free or have a paid price from $0.99 through $999.99; this is a supported technical range, not unlimited pricing, and may change under our generally applicable terms. Booklyverse displays prices and collects payment from readers through our third-party payment processor. Prices are read from the platform at the time of sale; you may not attempt to charge readers outside the platform for platform-delivered access.
Unless a written program addendum states otherwise, you receive 80% of Net Proceeds from eligible digital book sales and Booklyverse retains 20% of Net Proceeds as its platform fee. “Net Proceeds” means the amount attributable to a sale after payment processor fees, applicable taxes, refunds, chargebacks, and any author-approved discounts. Your applicable revenue share is shown in your author dashboard at the time of sale.
If Booklyverse accepts you into the Founding Author Program, you pay 0% Booklyverse platform fees on Eligible Digital Book Sales during the Founding Program and receive 100% of Net Proceeds from those sales. The Founding Author Program Addendum defines eligibility, duration, notice, and exclusions and controls if it conflicts with this Agreement for your Program benefits.
Payment processing, balances, and payouts are handled by our payment processor and are subject to its identity verification (KYC), payout schedules, and terms. Booklyverse does not hold your funds; the processor is the source of truth for balances, eligibility, and payouts.
You are responsible for the taxes owed on your earnings. Refunds, chargebacks, and disputes are handled under our refund policy and the processor’s rules, and may be deducted from your earnings.
Booklyverse may review Works before or after they are published. We may decline, delay, remove, delist, or restrict a Work that we reasonably believe violates this Agreement, our content policies, or the law, or that is the subject of a credible complaint (including a valid copyright/DMCA notice).
Where practical we will tell you why, and you may appeal through the tools we provide. Readers who already acquired access to a Work generally keep their access even if the Work is later delisted, unless we are required to remove it.
This Agreement stays in effect while you use Booklyverse as an author. You may unpublish a Work or stop publishing at any time from your dashboard. Either party may terminate this Agreement; termination does not affect rights or obligations that accrued before it (including sales already made and payouts owed).
You may withdraw your acceptance of this Agreement, but doing so means you can no longer publish or sell Works on Booklyverse, and we may unpublish your Works. We will still honor access already granted to readers and complete payouts already owed, to the extent required.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Booklyverse and its operators from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your Work, your breach of this Agreement, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
Booklyverse is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Booklyverse is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or sales, arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in this Agreement limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
We may update this Agreement. When we make a material change, we will update the version below and ask you to accept the updated Agreement before you publish again. Your continued publishing after acceptance is governed by the then-current version.
Questions about this Agreement can be sent to our support channel from your account. This Agreement, together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and content policies, governs your use of Booklyverse as an author.
Accepted participants should also read the Founding Author Program Addendum.
By publishing a Work on Booklyverse you confirm that you have read and agree to this Author Agreement (Version 2026-07-20).
